Collector's Edition

Action figure and packaging built for the Pinocchio show at Villa UGC, Festival de Cannes.

I used to get nightmares as a kid - one, in particular, I’ve had so many times that I remember it with great clarity. I’m dashing through a labyrinth of shifting corridors, pursued by the creatures that dwell there. In my heart, I know that there is no escape; the walls themselves are alive, mutated and reshuffled into a path that pulls me further in and deeper down.

I started thinking about those dreams again recently, in the context of diasporic alienation. Was I running from, or running to? In this retelling, our hero falls backwards into a void he cannot see - a leap of faith that begins and ends with uncertainty.

Full package layout. The graphics were designed with a mix of Rhino, ZBrush, and Substance Designer/Painter, then rendered in Blender.

Packaging was laser cut and UV printed on cardboard, then assembled with a vacuum-formed plastic interior. The figurine was an enamel painted 3D print, treated with acetone to get a more worn and rubbery look.
